Communications That Drive Results

The Reis Group was built for one purpose: shaping the conversations that move healthcare forward. We use the power of strategic and thoughtful communications campaigns to change people, policies and perspectives.

Government Health Campaigns

HHS COVID-19 Public Education Campaign: Building trust across two administrations.

Challenge:

Increase awareness of the vaccine-development process and boost vaccine knowledge and confidence about prevention and treatment, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services hired a multi-agency communications team that created the We Can Do This COVID-19 Public Education Campaign. TRG was selected as the lead agency for earned media and issues management. In this role during two presidential administrations, TRG oversaw and worked collaboratively with four multicultural agencies to create a comprehensive earned-media campaign and issues-response protocol.

Results:

The campaign generated more than 2 billion earned media impressions with 100 local trusted spokespersons and engaged 100 social media influencers to deliver timely health messages. Learnings from this effort directly informed a subsequent national campaign about the risks of and available vaccines for flu, RSV and COVID.

Scientific Media Relations

Translating complex science for national impact.

Challenge:

Expand Banner Alzheimer’s Institute’s national profile as a major research entity in the Alzheimer’s field and support recruitment for its groundbreaking Alzheimer’s prevention clinical trials.

Results:

TRG executed a three-pronged strategy: promoting BAI’s science, engaging key opinion leaders, and supporting nationwide recruitment of patients for clinical trials. We consistently translated complex research into human-interest narratives that resonated with reporters covering medicine, consumer health, and business. Our work generated placements in The Associated Press, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fortune, and Newsweek, as well as a two-part CBS 60 Minutes feature reaching 17.3 million viewers. BAI surpassed all of its fundraising and recruitment goals and is now recognized as a national leader in Alzheimer’s prevention research.

Thought Leadership

Increasing executive visibility through a national leadership platform

Challenge:

Build a national reputation for a multi-state children’s health system in a highly competitive healthcare environment.

Results:

We developed a multi-pronged approach combining executive visibility, high-quality earned media, and spokesperson preparation. TRG has secured more than 1,500 stories and 2.3 billion media impressions, along with dozens of speaking engagements and awards, establishing Nemours as a transformative champion of children’s health.

Advocacy & Policy

Strengthening a voice in the policy debate.

Challenge:

Increase awareness of ASHP as the go-to source for information about the constantly evolving drug supply crisis and how to manage it – for both consumers and health systems.

Results:

In the last year alone, we secured more than 300 original articles generating more than 400 million impressions. ASHP and its members are positioned as issue experts playing a vital role in addressing our nation’s drug shortages.

Behavioral Health Campaigns

Inspiring a Movement

Challenge:

During the span of a year most people spend a very tiny portion of their lives within the healthcare system (1-20 hours). The rest of the time is spent in community (over 8,000 hours a year.) The Healthy Us Collaborative created TakeCare to address health and well-being where people live, learn, work, play and pray.

Results:

Led end-to-end communications strategy for TakeCare, starting with in-depth audience research to uncover what motivates people to pursue health. We built a refreshed brand identity and messaging platform, launched a new website, and executed a robust social media campaign anchored in emotionally resonant storytelling. We then partnered with Duke Health and the Durham, NC community on a pilot program, translating national strategy into local impact and helping people discover their own power to create health and well-being in their lives.
