Team News: Two New VP Promotions at The Reis Group
The Reis Group is pleased to announce that two of its team members, Lauren K. Musiol and Hieu D. Nguyen, have been promoted to Vice President. In their new leadership roles, they will be supervising work for major clients in healthcare, and science, and will also promote the firm’s continuing growth in public education, professional societies, and advocacy groups.
“In the transition to our new firm, Lauren and Hieu have shown impressive expertise on client accounts, both within our team and throughout the industry,” said Sharon M. Reis, founder and principal of The Reis Group, a Washington-based public relations agency that specializes in health, healthcare, science, and social issues.
“The expertise they have demonstrated in spearheading national campaigns on behalf of foundations, research institutes, and medical societies sets them apart from their peers,” said Reis, who started the new firm this year after co-founding GYMR Public Relations in Washington in 1998.
Musiol has been an exceptional campaign and account manager since joining her in 2006, Reis said, citing Musiol’s “decade-long passion, commitment, and hard work on every project she’s handled. She has excelled at creating stakeholder engagement strategies that help build strong communities and coalitions.” Musiol, who served as a Managing Supervisor at GYMR, is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in journalism and mass communication.
Nguyen’s deep understanding of science and policy is routinely tapped by the firm to translate complex issues for clients navigating the changing marketplace and serving consumer audiences. Nguyen leans heavily on his science background to manage media for several major annual scientific meetings. He joined the team in 2014 as a Managing Supervisor after working in communications and pharmaceuticals. Nguyen received his BS in Biology and MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and his MBA from Georgetown University.
Musiol and Nguyen’s promotions bolster the firm’s leadership team, comprised of a core of experienced communications professionals that includes Vice President Tamara Moore.
