Blue Shield of California Foundation is committed to helping the safety net adapt to the changing healthcare environment and ensure the most vulnerable Californians have access to quality care.
Working to identify successful strategies and models of care to educate and engage both healthcare professionals and patients and their families, the Foundation has invested in a series of studies examining the healthcare preferences and experiences of low-income Californians. The resulting findings have provided an inside-look at healthcare preferences.
To inform the work of the community health centers and clinics that make up the frontlines of California’s safety net system, The Reis Group worked with the Foundation to identify and share research findings through webinars, infographics, media promotion and stakeholder outreach.
The more pressing topics have included engaging patients and families, accessing care, providing behavioral healthcare in a primary care setting, integrating mobile technology into care plans, and transitioning to value-based care.
